Wahclella Falls
Category: Columbia River GorgeTags: Wahclella Falls, waterfalls
Location: Columbia River Gorge, Oregon
Distance: 3.6 miles roundtrip
Elevation Gain: about 400 ft.
Our former neighbors from Kansas were in Portland for a visit and we took them to Wahclella Falls for a hike. They hadn’t been on a hike in the Columbia River Gorge before, so this was a good introduction. The weather had been hot & dry, so the hike had a different look than when we went several weeks ago. The hike begins along Tanner Creek and passes by a small waterfall right next to the trail before climbing slightly into the forest above the creek. The trail goes along the small canyon area, pretty much straight back to the waterfall area.
