Location: Siouxon Creek, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington
Distance: 7.6 miles
Elevation gain: 700 feet

Siouxon Creek is about one hour and forty-five minutes from Portland and is south of Mount St. Helens. On the trail, we passed five named waterfalls: Horseshoe Creek Falls, Siouxon Creek Falls, Middle Siouxon Creek Falls, Upper Siouxon Creek Falls and Chinook Falls. All of the water is very clear and you can see the bottom of the creek for quite a distance. In the deeper pools, the water is jade green. The forest is mainly western hemlock, douglas fir and cedar and the understory is covered with ferns, oxalis, salmonberry, and salal. We passed several rustic campsites and all along the trail there are nice spots to sit and enjoy the views.
