Silver Falls State Park
Category: Williamette Valley & ForestTags: Silver Falls State Park, waterfalls
Location: Silver Falls State Park, east of Salem, Oregon
We went on the 10 waterfalls hike, but we shortened it a bit and hiked for about 5 miles. It was a beautiful spring day and not too crowded. We started at South Falls and also saw Lower South Falls, Lower North Falls, Drake Falls, Middle North Falls and Winter Falls. Most of the hike is in the forest along a stream. The elevation gain is about 600 feet, going up and down several times. This was our first real hike in Oregon and I think we picked a pretty good one to start with. The waterfalls are so awesome… and I love the moss and ferns and water everywhere. We definitely will be going back again and again.
